SNOW DAY MAKE UP PLAN
March 3, 2010

Due to the record setting snowfall in February, combined with a normal January winter, we closed schools 10 days in 2009-10.  Additionally, we delayed our starting time 8 times and had an early release 3 times.  I know that these days cause inconvenience to all of us.

The state of Ohio requires that we make up 5 days (any days in excess of 5 days up to 10.)  Realizing that there will be conflicts with any make up plan we tried to take into consideration graduation day, vacations, summer classes and productive teaching time prior to testing dates this spring.

The Logan Elm Schools will be in session the following dates and times:

          DATES                                                TIMES

Saturday, March 13, 2010     HS & McDowell – 7:30-1:00       Elementary 8:45-1:45

KINDERGARTEN
The kindergarten teachers believe their students will be more productive attending 2 all day sessions instead of 4 shortened sessions.
Their schedule will be:
A.M. students attend all day only–   March 13 – 8:45-1:45
                                                 March 20 – 8:45-1:45

P.M. students attend all day only-   March 27 – 8:45-11:45
                                                 April 10     8:45-1:45

PRESCHOOL

There will be no preschool on makeup days.

IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event of dense fog or snow on one of these Saturday makeup days, where we would normally delay 2 hours, that makeup day would be cancelled.  We would reschedule for the next available Saturday - April 17, 24 ……

If we are forced to close schools more than 10 days this year, the state permits us to add time to our regular school day to make up those days.  Hopefully, we will not need that option.  Sorry for any inconveniences this plan causes to your personal plans.  Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
